What is CRYX?

The CRYX Project is to support investors via benchmarking and data/analytics solutions to help them have an accurate view of the cryptocurrency market environment so that they can manage and build better portfolios and investment strategies. Our services include:

Who owns my algorithms and strategies?

You own your algorithms and strategies. Everything you code is yours, unless you decide to share it publicly or sell it through the use of our smart contracts and CCX Tokens.

Is CRYX free?

Yes, you will be able to use our own IDE to backtest your strategies for free. However, we do charge for the following services (with the use of CCX Tokens):

How do you use the Blockchain Technology?

We are using the Ethereum Blockchain technology as it is the most adequate, efficient, popular and powerful blockchain that is currently available.

We are using it through the use of its smart contracts in the following cases:

What are the «CRYX Contests » and «Crypto Fund Contests » and how often will they be organized on the CRYX Platform ?

The ‘CRYX Contest’ and the ‘Crypto Fund Contest’ will be held on a regular basis. They both will be organized through the use of Ethereum-based decentralized smart contracts, during which participants will endeavor to obtain the best Sharpe ratios by backtesting their algorithms and strategies using CRYX’s data and/or Crypto Funds’ data and/or Third-Party data vendors’ data. The top-3 contestants will be rewarded CCX Tokens for their successful and promising careers in quantitative investments and cryptocurrency investments.

What are the different services that can be bought with the CCX Token on the CRYX Platform?

The CCX Token can be used to unlock features on the CRYX Platform. Features can include:

The CCX Token will also be the medium of exchange in all of the various smart contracts that will be made on the “CRYX Ecosystem”:

Are my algorithms kept secret ?

Your algorithms are kept secret. CRYX is committed to protecting your intellectual property. It is up to CRYX users to share their algorithm so that others can see it. If you choose to share your algorithm(s), it will still be owned by you but will no longer be kept in secret. This latter will be used and adapted by others.

What is the CCX Token?

A cryptocurrency that has been privately issued on the Ethereum blockchain. Please read the Token Sale Agreement in here.

What is the utility of the CCX Token?

The CCX Token will be a significant part of the CRYX Ecosystem which will use Smart Contracts on the Ethereum Blockchain.

The more agents will use the CRYX ecosystem, the more liquid the CCX Token will be.

For more information, please see Chapter XXX above.

How does CCX Tokens work?

CCX Tokens will be available on pre-sale on the 9th of April 2018 12:01AM GMT – unless the total supply has been distributed earlier during the pre-sale or the actual token crowdsale, then the crowdsale would end at this specific time. People will give us Ethereum and we will give them CCX Tokens in exchange.

Fund raised through this collective effort will be invested in the platform and the team to develop our final product highlighted on our whitepaper.

Can I sell my CCX Tokens?

CCX Tokens holders may choose to sell their coins on the market at any time as they wish.

Will people trade CCX Tokens?

It is very likely that people will trade their CCX Tokens.

While a certain quantity of CCX Tokens will be spent on our platform by users, anyone is free to buy and sell CCX Tokens on markets at whatever price is available without our input or consent.

What happens if you don't sell all the coins during the Token crowdsale?

Any coins that are left unsold will be immediately and publicly burned when the crowdfunding period closes.

Can I get refund?

Unfortunately, the blockchain is designed as a one-way transaction model. Once you participate on the Tokens crowdsale you will receive CCX Tokens for your contribution paid in Ethereum. There will be no refund.

Can you actually make use of all the money you raise?

Yes. The service and quality level will be more than likely linked to how much we raise. We will also focus on the community and advertising to bring people to join us will be easier as we collect more money. We have defined a flexible business model.

What benchmark does CRYX use?

CRYX creates its own benchmarks on cryptocurrencies. The cryptocurrency index CRYX is a conceptual benchmark developed by financial professionals to create an index methodology adapted to the cryptocurrency market. The reallocation of the constituents is revised on a daily basis in order to better react to the dynamic market changes. This reallocation takes into consideration the market capitalization and the liquidity of every cryptocurrency. CRYX Indexes provide different calculation methods in order to provide indexes adapted to different portfolio strategies (i.e. Cap-Weighted, Equal-Weighted, and Exponential-Weighted). Each index is then available with a fixed number of constituents (i.e. 5, 10, 25, 50, and 100). For more info:

What data does CRYX have?

At CRYX, we provide data on our different indices. These include the index components and all of its underlying data (i.e. constituents). The underlying data are very granular. We also provide data on our CRYX Cryptocurrency Classification Standard (CCS).

Why are your data different from other data sources?

The data on cryptocurrencies we are retrieving are prices, volumes and market capitalisations that are aggregated and averaged out the exchanges where the cryptocurrencies are currently traded on. These data constitute the basis of our indices calculations. Therefore, as an example, the data we do have from Bitcoin are not necessarily the same as the ones you can have on a specific exchange (e.g. Coinbase).

Is your data high-frequency?

High-frequency data can be requested on-demand but we do not generally deal with high-frequency data (i.e. milliseconds data).

How do I write an algorithm ?

You can write your algorithm on our IDE. You’ll also be able to, for example, use our various internal APIs for Machine Learning for prediction purposes.

How do I learn how to code in Python ?

We do not (yet) provide tutorials in Python. However, we do recommend the following tutorial : If you want to practice your Python skills, feel free to use the DataCamp course on Data Science as well :

Where can I get resources and algorithms ideas from?

You’ll be able to go to the CRYX Community forum and check what they have carried out, and perhaps innovate from someone else’s strategy. If you can’t find the answer to your questions, you’ll still be able to write a new post in the forums, it will be most likely that someone will endeavour to help you through your ideas and strategies.

Note: Don’t use a third party’s proprietary algorithms or materials without getting any necessary consents first.

What libraries will the CRYX IDE support ?

The following libraries will be supported : bisect cmath collections copy cvxopt datetime functools heapq itertools math numpy operator pandas pytz Queue random re scipy sklearn statsmodels time talib zipline zlib

If you need a module that isn't on this list, please let us know.

Can I code in another programming language (example C++, R, or Java) ?

Not at the moment, and we have no plans (yet) to support another language at this time. However, Python is a reasonably simple and very powerful programming language. Moreover, you will never be stuck in Python as the CRYX Community will always be happy to help you. Plus, forums such as already have thousands and thousands of questions and answers that are likely to look like yours.

Can I use my own IDE ?

You can use any IDE that you'd like, but in the end you need to paste the code into our IDE to run a backtest.

Can I have a copy of your data ?

Our data are proprietary. We either license them or we sell them. If you are interested in using the data, please make a request at :
